The Seven Keys to Our Collective Success

1. Do the right thing.

In every situation do what is in the best interest of our clients. Don’t take shortcuts! The goal is to get things “right”, not simply to get things done. This enhances our reputation for integrity and is one of our greatest assets.

2. Check the ego at the door.

Being concerned over who gets credit, who looks bad and who looks good is counterproductive. Make decisions for the good of the client and the company.

3. Practice blameless problem solving.

Focus on what are our best options to solve the problem.

4. Honor your commitments.

Do what you say you’re going to when you say you’re going to do it. If a commitment cannot be fulfilled, notify others as soon as possible.

5. Communicate to be understood.

Write and speak in a way that the other person can understand. Remember to treat people as individuals and show them respect at all time.

6. Look ahead and anticipate.

Be better prepared by anticipating future needs and addressing them today. Be proactive.

7. Take responsibility.

Don’t be a “victim”. Ask for what you need and take full responsibility for your success.

Our Team

Peter Bourassa

President

Peter has mastered the art of the long-term client relationship, and it’s his job to run the company, which he founded. He’s an accomplished engineer as well, with a BSC in Electrical Engineering, a BA in Economics and is a state-licensed Master Electrician. As son of an electrical contractor, he grew up in the business, and founded his first one (Bourassa Electric) in 1975. He’s also reputed to know some of the best fishing spots in South Florida.

Efrain Freytes

Vice President

Efrain has an acute sense of how to listen to our clients, which helps him manage the complex processes that lead to getting projects done right. With a BSEE in Electrical Engineering, over 28 years experience in the electrical trade and 17 years in Project Management, he has what it takes to get projects done. He’s also LEED and EIT certified. When he’s not working or spending time with his wife and five kids, he may be found on a basketball court.

JERRY WATLINGTON

Senior Estimator

Jerry’s great communication skills and proven business acumen provide Canam Electric with an estimating process that consistently keeps costs on target without blowing deadlines. He honed his skills working for the competition (Sorry, guys.) and we love him for it. He has over 18 invaluable years experience in large commercial projects and a degree in construction management.

Our crews comprise the majority of our company, and are out there every day making things happen. Because our employees bring many decades of experience in all kinds of large-scale electrical installations, Canam Electric has the people and skills to assemble the right team for any job. Superintendents, foremen, electricians and helpers all undergo continuing training and review, with an emphasis on workplace safety and code compliance.
